MONTGOMERY, AL — Alabama reported 405 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and just one fatality from the virus. The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed fewer than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 for three straight days.
In the last two weeks, Alabama has confirmed 10,579 cases of COVID-19, dipping well below 14-day totals in July and August. The state did see an increase in hospitalizations Tuesday, with 858 reported hospitalized with COVID-19 in Alabama.
Total, more than 980,000 coronavirus tests have been administered in the state since the pandemic began, and of the 133,606 patients who tested positive for the virus, 51,154 are presumed to have recovered.
