Seattle opening more COVID-19 testing sites

SEATTLE, WA — Seattle welcomes its fourth free community testing site Friday, with the opening of a new walk-up location at Chief Sealth High School in West Seattle. Between the four facilities, all operated by the Seattle Fire Department, the city expects to run more than 75,000 tests every month.

Free Seattle coronavirus testing sites:

Aurora Drive-Thru Site (12040 Aurora Ave N.)

SODO Drive-Thru Site (3820 6th Ave S.)

Rainier Beach Walk-Up Site (8815 Seward Park Ave S/Henderson Street entrance)

Chief Sealth High School Walk-Up Site (2801 SW Thistle St.)

According to the city, the three existing sites have administered more than 128,000 tests since June 5, accounting for more than 15 percent of the state’s total tests in the same timeframe.

All city testing sites are free, and patients will not be charged regardless of health insurance status. To minimize wait times, visitors are encouraged to pre-register online, but no one will be turned away. All four testing sites maintain hours between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Who Can Get Tested for Free?

If you live, work, or regularly visit Seattle, and you are experiencing a symptom(s) of COVID-19 and/or you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the past 14 days, you can be tested for free.

If you attended large gatherings, you may have been exposed. You are strongly urged to get tested for COVID-19 if you develop any symptoms. Taking proactive steps to protect your health, such as wearing a mask, avoiding physical contact, and regularly washing your hands, can cut down on your risks of contracting the virus, even in large gatherings.

• shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• fatigue
• muscle or body aches
• headache
• new loss of taste or smell
• sore throat
• congestion or runny nose
• nausea or vomiting
• diarrhea
